Balance and falls
A physical therapist works on balance where you need it: the hallway, the step to the yard, or the stairs and parallel bars at a hub. You practice standing, turning and stepping with a hand nearby, and we show you what to change in a room so it is safer.
This care is for you if
You feel unsteady on stairs, curbs or uneven floors
You have stumbled or fallen and want to understand why
A family member worries about you walking alone
You want to keep gardening, walking and traveling

What a visit looks like
What we do
Your therapist checks your strength, your feet and how you stand and turn, then practices steps with you, with a hand on a belt.
At home or at a hub
At home we work with your own rooms and stairs. At a hub we add bars, a staircase and space to practice longer walks.
How many visits
It depends on what your therapist finds and how you respond. They talk it through with you and your family.
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.
Questions about this care
Can a family member join the visit?
Yes. You choose who is in the room, and a family member who lives far away can join by phone or video.
What if I fall between visits?
If you are hurt or can't get up, call 911. If you are not hurt, call the office and tell your therapist at the next visit.
