Shoulder and arm

Reaching a shelf, washing your hair or carrying a bag all rely on the shoulder. Your therapist looks at how the shoulder, neck and upper back work together, treats what limits you and teaches you exercises you can repeat.

This care is for you if

  • Reaching overhead or behind you is hard

  • Sleeping on one side is uncomfortable

  • You are recovering from a fall or a shoulder operation

  • Gripping and carrying feel weak

What a visit looks like

  • What we do

Your therapist examines your shoulder, neck and upper back, treats with their hands where it helps and sets exercises with bands.

  • At home or at a hub

At home we use what you reach for every day. At a hub we add pulleys and heavier weights when you are ready.

  • What decides how many visits

What your therapist finds and how you respond. They talk it through with you.

  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, a sudden severe headache or pain, new weakness or numbness, loss of bladder or bowel control, or a fall with a head injury needs emergency care now. Call 911.
